Noel Gallagher may be a staunch Man City supporter but he’s paid tribute to Man United legend George Best by saying he was “cool” enough to be in his band.
Gallagher, who is currently on tour in Australia with Oasis, said of Best: “Georgie transcended football. He was called the fifth Beatle and he looked cool as ****.”
Gallagher became friends with Best after meeting him at a charity event, he went on to say: “He owned a night club and a clothes shop, drove a Ferrari and he shagged Miss World.”
“The only thing he didn’t do in his life that was cool was play music, and he probably would have been good at that too.”
