Gary Glitter could face a firing squad if he is found guilty of sexually abusing a 12 year old girl.
Vietnamese troops are hoping to be able to make an example of the former glam rock star.
Troops are queuing up to be involved in the firing squad that may end Glitter’s life, despite the fact that such jobs are normally left to the police.
According to the Daily Star one soldier said: “We are sick and tired of disgusting perverts travelling here to commit abuse.
“Normally police carry out such executions. But there are only a few volunteers for such jobs. Many are chosen too young and nervous. Some tremble so much they meet the targets.
“If Glitter is found guilty there won’t be enough room for all the soldiers that will want to pull the trigger and finish him off.”
However, Glitter has vowed to kill himself rather then be killed by a firing squad.
