All is not well in the world of Nickelback but hey maybe it’ll stop them making their rather shite brand of country stadium rock metal.
Front man Chad Kroeger is reportedly suing former drummer Ryan Vikedal in a bid to stop him from claiming royalties for on all the bands so-called hits.
Kroeger, alongside his production company Arm Your Dillo Publishing Inc (So funny!), are trying to claim damages against Vikedal for the royalties he’s received since he left the band in January reports the Toronto Sun.
In a statement filed to the Supreme Court in British Columbia, Canada Kroeger states that he is the sole author and maker of the songs and that he wants the court to make a declaration that he and his production company own the copyright to Nickelback’s three albums.
Kroeger says that he has been demanding since January that Vikedal and his company Ladekiv Music Inc sign registration forms with Canadian performers society SOCAN returning their interests in future performance royalties and repaying any royalties received.
