Gary Glitter To Be Charged With Child Abuse

The Vietnamese government are pressing charges of child abuse against Gary Glitter.

Police have decided they now have enough evidence to prosecute the former Glam rock star who has recently been residing in Vietnam.

An anonymous official from the southern Ba Ria Vung Tau province said: "We have enough evidence now to prosecute Gary for child abuse."

Glitter real name Paul Gadd was stopped from boarding a plane to Bangkok last week after it was claimed he has slept with an underage girl.

He was taken into custody and denied allegations that he had molested a 12 year old girl.

Glitter’s lawyer Le Thanh Kinh was attempting to seek bail for his client but made no comment regarding the charges.

A newspaper in Vietnam reported this week that 10 girls had been identified as having sex with Glitter, one was 12 years old.

In 1999 Glitter was sentenced to 2 months in prison after he was caught with child pornography.

He has since lived in Cuba, Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Vietnam.
