Paul McCartney has succeeded in his bid to become the first musician to broadcast live music into space.
As had been reported earlier in the week, McCartney agreed to play a show in California, wherein two tracks, including The Beatles' 'Good Day Sunshine', would be broadcast 354 kilometres above Earth to US astronaut Bill McArthur and his Russian crewmate Valery Tokarev.
This took place last night, where after the show in Anaheim it was broadcast to wake up the two space travellers for Day 44 of their space voyage.
Dad rocker Macca said from the stage: "I can't believe that we're actually broadcasting into space! This is sensational. I love it."
McArthur responded with a couple of zero-gravity flips, and thanked McCartney, saying: "That was simply magnificent. We consider you an explorer just as we are."
Well, not really...
