Former Sex Pistols member Glen Matlock joined The Paddingtons on stage last night for an impromptu performance of ‘Pretty Vacant’.
The bassist was among a number of punk royalty who turned up to the show at Central St Martins Art School in London celebrating the legendary Pistols performance there nearly 30 years ago.
The BBC reports that Matlock opened the event by unveiling a blue plaque commemorating the gig where the Pistols were actually playing in support of Adam Ants original band Bazooka Joe.
Matlock told 6 Music about the original show: "It was a real hassle getting the thing together in the first place. We were supposed to use the other band's equipment, but they didn't let us use it at the last minute, so we had to trundle all our gear through the rain to get here."
"We played for about five or 10 minutes and everyone had their fingers in their ear holes and that was the end of it. Then the vodka kicked in and I don't remember too much about it after that."
The gig also featured up and coming bands Battant and Comanechi plus Fred Deakin from Lemon Jelly DJing.
