Oscar nomination or no oscar nomination?

Discuss.

Hmmm, good question.

I would say perhaps yes, aslong as he got it for how good his performance was, i.e. he would've got it regardless of if he died or not.

If he gets it solely because he snuffed it, then no.

It was a ruddy good performance though.

For me, yes and not because the fact that he's dead, i've never seen someone play sinister so well, when i was watching the film, the thing i was most looking forward to see was the joker, and every scene was better when he was in it.

Just to add to this i dont know the fella who plays him (always been crap on film knowledge) but the fella who plays Harvey Dent was also excellent

Don't worry, they don't give Oscars out for winning wars!

i think 'no'
it was a great performance, but sci-fi blockbuster-esque films don't tend to get the 'best actor' style awards, so if he were to get it, it would be largely due to his death and hence would seem a little derogatory to me... regardless of how well he played the part.

I think his performance was fantastic. I agree he shouldnt get one cos' he died but I havent seen anything as good by anyone else this year so for that reason I say he deserves one.
