Started in 2006, Mean Fiddler pulled something completely fresh out the bag. But Latitude is not just about music. There are book readings, poetry, theatre, puppet shows, cabaret, art shows, celebrations and DJ sets all night and day.
The site itself is steeped in folklore and history as the commonly known mythical ghost dog ‘Black Shuck’ made famous by the Sherlock Holmes novel ‘Hound Of The Baskervilles’ is said to haunt the cemetery and side streets near the estate. Don’t let that scare you though as the lights will be left on all night, whereas most festivals finish at midnight Latitude will continue on through the night with magicians, movies, burlesque shows and comedians until the early hours of the morning, with waiter service bars selling everything from the obvious beer all the way to champagne. A festival for the sleep deprivation lovers.
