London Feis

London Feis took place in the capital’s Finsbury Park on Saturday 18th and 19th June 2011. The festival celebrated 21 years of the best Irish and International music in Finsbury Park.

Vince Power, founder of the Mean Fiddler Group, Hop Farm Music Festival and operator of Benicassim Festival, was responsible for 14 Fleadh festivals at Finsbury Park which was a staple on the London music calendar from 1990 until 2004. Continuing on from where the Fleadh left off, London Feis steps in with a fresh outlook: Irish in flavour, international in reach.

Vince has hosted some of the biggest names in Irish and International music and the London Feis was a celebration of all the acts Vince has worked with over the years. All the familiar names from over the years returned for the occasion…Christy Moore, The Waterboys, The Saw Doctors, Shane MacGowan, Hothouse Flowers, Paul Brady, Mary Coughlan and many more. Bob Dylan, who is becoming a regular at Finsbury Park, also returned headlining the first night.

Speaking before the festival, festival boss Vince Power said: “The inaugural London Feis will be a fantastic edition to the capital’s summer calendar and announcing Bob Dylan for an exclusive UK performance means that the first year will be one to remember. I’ve worked with Bob many times before and am delighted to have him back once again.”

The festival sees the best Irish and International music has to offer on many stages at London’s Finsbury Park.
