The Slam dunk brand began as a rock club night in 2001 at the Cockpit in Leeds. Specialising in pop punk / emo / ska punk / hardcore genres, before eventually branching out and starting up a festival. it is also known as the record label that launched You me at Six.
In 2008 the festival branched out and expanded into multiple stages at Leeds university, and the following year increased to seven stages with an overall capacity of 5000.
Previous years acts include Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Kids in Glass Houses, Hundred Reasons, Boys like Girls, The Blackout and Fightstar.
