SuperSonic Festival

Started in December 1999 by Lisa Meyer and Jenny Moore when they put out their first event Pre Millenial Tension (PMT) featuring Polaris. Their label, Capsule was created because of their frustration at the lack of venues to display art and musical talent in Birmingham. Events involving acts from Godspeed You Black Emperor to Marc Almond and metal heads Ramesses followed.

In 2003 they decided to expand to a two day festival, including performances from LCD Sound System and DJ Food, and  lo, SuperSonic was born.

Events run over two days in Birmingham's unique Custard Factory. Acts are split over two rooms on Friday and an outside stage and theatre space for Saturday. There will be a film programme provided by 7 Inch Cinema, record and cake stalls and art installations. Described as ambitious and eclectic this festival has something for those who love banging beats, with a bit of culture and a few baked goods thrown in for good measure.
