The Cheltenham International Jazz Festival ranks among the top British festivals of its kind. Started in 1996, the Festival has brought some of the biggest names in jazz from around the world. Fresh talent is introduced by the Jerwood Rising Stars series and The Fringe Festival. Jazzed up discussions are also encouraged by joining the Jazz Summit with questions evolving around the past, present, future and best of jazz.
2006 had Lee Konitz - jazz pioneer and collaborator on Miles Davies' 'Birth of Cool' , and Dianne Reeves - soundtrack diva of George Clooney's 'Good Night And Good Luck'.
Dance, jazz, and late nights come into their element in the festival's club nights, so there's no excuse for an early night! Concerts at various venues around Cheltenham.
