This week's must-listen tracks

Here are the ten tracks that have made Gigwise's week go that little bit quicker

AlunaGeorge - Just A Touch

AlunaGeorge got the In Demand! treatment this week after coming through with a brand new EP of which 'Just A Touch' is a highlight. The boy/ girl duo work perfectly in tandem here with Aluna providing the gorgeous melody and George dragging the sound of 90's US R'n'B into the 21st century.

Flaming Lips feat. Chris Martin - I Don't Want You To Die

The Flaming Lips marked Record Store Day 2012 by collaborating with pretty much anyone who fancied it. Perhaps unsurprisingly their hook up with Ke$ha is a bit of a racket but this lo-fi moment with Chris Martin is a nice change of pace from the Coldplay frontman.

Pure Love - Bury My Bones

When Frank Carter left Gallows we knew he was ditching the heavier side of life but nothing prepared us for this. Is it genius? Is it rubbish? We're divided but one thing is for sure, it's impossible to ignore such a bold step.

Little Boots - Every Night I Say A Prayer

When Little Boots first emerged it was never quite clear whether she wanted to be a Britney shaped icon or a blog readers hipster darling. This first taste of her forthcoming second album suggests she has finally plumped for the latter, eschewing the temptation to recruit Guetta et al and crafting a classy pop moment.

Purity Ring - Obedear

Purity Ring announced details of their debut album this week and teased us with the perfect appetiser in the shape of Obedear. Swallow it whole and come back in July for more.

Pulled Apart By Horses - Blue Jeans (Lana Del Rey cover)

Everyone and their Mother has done something with a Lana Del Rey song this year (you should hear our Mum's take on Video Games, devastating) but Pulled Apart By Horses are not treading old ground here. Keeping Lana's melodrama but adding big riffs and screamed vocals we approve of this cover 100%.

Maximo Park - Hips and Lips

Paul Smith has donned his bowler hat once more and returned to the fray with his Maximo Park brothers, pummeling us with this anthemic indie pop hit 'Hips and Lips'. The song is taken from the band's forthcoming album 'The National Health', due for release in June.

Cassie - Queen of Hearts (Richard X remix)

Cassie is one of the music world's greatest losses of potential with her small army of fans convinced that she should have become the star Rihanna went on to be. We're not so sure but this Richard X remix of recent single Queen of Hearts is proof that if she ever fancies swapping under-appreciated R'n'B for floor-filling electropop then she is more than ready.

Worship - Leviathan

The dubstep wobble is a tricky beast, use it too much and people accuse you of being stupid but use it too little and you can fall into the trap of sounding like any other band. So praise for Worship then as they master the dark art on this free download 'Leviathan'.

Eli & Fur - Sea Of Stars

Eli & Fur cite Robyn and Annie as influences which means, should they share similar careers, they'll be utterly brilliant but sell about 6 albums. They already have the first part down, let's make sure they smash the charts too shall we?
