The blogosphere is buzzing with the arrival of LA siblings Ko Ko and their stunning sound - and quite rightly so.

Brothers Ryan and Taylor Lawhorn, formerly known as synth-poppers White Apple Trees, are new on the scene in their latest musical incarnation, but debut EP 'Float' is causing ripples with its sweet, downtempo eletronic indie sounds.

Said to be named after a boat the duo once wanted to buy, Ko Ko are reminiscent of the UK's Chad Valley, mixing swirling electronic sounds with an indie sensibility - the results a heartwarming, sensitive blend of instrument-driven boy-pop.

Already compared to wistful, retro-poppers Cults and quirky pop geniuses Miike Snow, there's elements of both in lead track 'Float' with its heavy drum beat and whistle-led bounce. 'Intermission' boasts shoe-gaze influences, with it's reverb-heavy sounds, while the stunning 'So Strange' brings a hymnal sense of gloom to proceedings, and makes for perfect Sunday morning listening.

The EP is currently slated for release on 25 December 2012 (Merry Christmas indeed), but we're chalking this up to the LA sense of humour. Music this good can't be kept on the shelf for the next nine months.
