Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us and not everybody is happy about it. We spoke to Ben from Young Guns about the big day.

Joy Division - 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'

I like how this song is more about failing relationships and not directed at anyone in particular. It lyrically says that love can only come out as a negative.

'Dearly Departed' - Young Guns

Not cool picking your own bands song but i think this song fits the anti-valentines vibe great. It's an instrumentally uplifting song but the lyrics Gus writes are anti-love. It's more about the possibility of love being a destruction as opposed to a positive. He shows it from the possible negative side that people choose to ignore.

Gotye - 'Somebody That I Used To Know'

His lyrics in this song are amazing. Love how he makes the 'girl' come across as a massive bitch. He really gets the whole 'break up' experience spot on.

Puddle of Mud – 'She Hates Me'

Never been a massive fan of this band but this is a classic song. The anti-valentine hint is in the title.

Def Leopard - 'Bringin' on the heartbreak'

Such a tune! Loved this band growing up and the pure anti love vibe in this song is great! All about expecting the end of a relationship and knowing it is gonna end badly.

Alice Cooper - 'Poison'

'Love is Poison' in a nutshell. All about how crap relationships and love are. Great song!
