Back in 2001 when rubbish talk was rife about guitar music dying on its proverbial arse, five well-heeled blokes from New York dressed in tight jeans came along to prove everyone wrong. ‘Is This It’ was packed with killer tunes and for many is one of the greatest guitar albums this century has produced. Two years later came ‘Room on Fire’, which again continued the same knock-out ethos.
Having played some tantalising intimate shows around the globe, including London’s tiny ULU, the anticipation for The Strokes’ third album, ‘First Impressions of Earth’ is reaching boiling point.
Luckily for you, two weeks before the album is released on January 2, Gigwise and Rough Trade have given you the chance to listen to the album in FULL.
