Festival Outrage. New Order Dis-Order. Babyshambles Album.

Crikey. It’s only 2pm on Monday and so far it’s been a veritable day of news madness here at the Gigwise office.

Firstly, it looks like those naughty organisers at the Global Gathering festival have told a fib or twenty-two about the state of the festival site last weekend. Last week they told us it was as dry as a bone (kind of) and now we hear people were sleeping in mud and queuing for the length of a dance compilation to get in! Have a look about what angry festivalgoers have been telling us this morning here.

Secondly, New Order’s Peter Hook has threatened legal action against the rest of the band. Should we be surprised that he want to use legal action? Probably not. Should we be surprised that he’s made the assault via the 21st century internet platform that is Myspace? Yeah we should! Heck, hopefully the court case will be screened online at this rate!

And. Finally, Babyshambles. Yes that’s right – the band Pete Doherty is in. And we’re actually talking Babyshambles as well now – not just loosely referencing them. The track listing for their new album has appeared online two months ahead of the release. Ooh, that means we’ll have to wait, what, a week until the album proper joins the leakage. Does anybody still value the art of waiting for an album to hit the shelves anymore?

Amongst all that, I even came across a remix of Sesame Street today, which, after all that , was nearly bizzare enough to make it into the news!
