Wires was originally conceived in late 2008 when a couple of music college alumni were reunited unexpectedly in the Southwest of England. Tom Bennett and Danny Parker had each had a four year stint of musical ups and downs, triumphs and disappointments since the days of scales and arpeggios in a guitar class in a grey Midlands town; days when it seemed that anything was possible. In a determination to end what had been a definite dry spell of live music experiences in each of their lives, the pair relished the opportunity to start writing and performing together. A little over 1 1/2 years, 3 bassists, 4 drummers and a whole lot of perseverance later, Wires as it currently exists sprung into life. With the addition of Toby Willmott on bass, and James Pritchard on drums, the musical puzzle seemed to finally and perfectly click into place. A combination of a wide range of influences, a passion for meaningful music and a sincere desire to play songs for an audience created a new and ultimately refreshing musical experience for each member, yielding songs that couldn't have evolved from any one of them alone. Haunting melodies, thoughtful guitar parts and honest, heartfelt lyrics come together over a driving yet grooving rhythm section resulting in sincere, challenging and ultimately uplifting song writing. Simply put, Wires aspire to create songs that resonate with people
