Marionettes play frantic indie pop music with a punk driven edge. It is played loud. Specialists in melodic hook based tunes with frenzied tempos, coupled with cutting (and often bizarre) social commentary. Having circulated Scotland's music scene since 2007, Marionettes have developed their sound and supported the likes of The Joy Formidable, Errors, 1990s, The Wave Pictures, The Parlotones, Sky Larkin and Japanese Voyeurs to name but a few. The "My New Marionettes EP" is currently available from the band at shows and at Oneup records in their native Aberdeen. Marionettes are currently gigging new material all over the UK with an aim to record the creme de la crop of these most recent songs in the not too distant future. here are some nice things people have said about Marionettes: "...very fast, very loud and very promising..."
