About
KruShenDo (Pronounced Crush-en-doe). This Baltimore rooted band composed of a three lyricists, and three instrumentalists bring a different kind of ear boggling experience to the music world. Their clean alternative Hip-hop style is most commonly referred to as "Rebel-Rock/Hip-hop". Their style has been commonly compared to that of Lupe Fiasco's Japanese Cartoon, Flobots, N.E.R.D., and The Roots. KruShenDo also incorporates jazz, funk, and soul into their style of music. This Baltimore native band performs for the masses making sure their music is for everyone, from young-old. This hard working group started up on October 15 of 2009 and was founded by the bands' 2 MC's, Brandon and Wavie. The band believes that every day is an evolution and continue to show that with time, dedication, and teamwork, hard work does pay off in the long run. KruShenDo may be one of the newest groups stepping into the band scene but they leave a strong lasting impression everywhere they go. This band has performed at a few open mics local to Baltimore such as Java Mamma's, The Hexagon, and Baltimore County Public Library. Back in the summer of 2010, KruShenDo was also asked to perform for Baltimore City's National Night Out: Fight Against Crime event. Later that year, KruShenDo had been selected to participate in Stevenson University's annual Mustang Fest 2010 Battle of the Bands which, sadly, they were not victorious but they did grab the attention of the entire audience and left their mark with the audience, their competition, and on stage. After a full year of tough long every week practices, the groups hard work finally paid off as they were selected amongst various bands to participate in Washington, D.C.'s annual event, The Next Big Thing Tour Battle of the Bands at the 9:30 Club where out of 40 other great performances from their competition, KruShenDo won 2nd place. This band is highly energetic and they share every ounce of that energy with their audience every time they're on stage and everywhere they go. KruShenDo plans to have a complete set of hard copies and downloads for their songs available for all their fans this coming fall of 2011 but hopefully sooner. For the mean time, catch the band perform live sometime and support.
