In Remission [inrem.] are a five piece, progressive metal, hardcore rock band from Bedfordshire. Swimming around in multiple shades of ‘metal’, In Remission are difficult to box. From the falsetto, epic leanings of Muse, to the guttural beatdowns of hardcore bands like Underoath and A Day To Remember, there’s something for everyone as the band refuse to play within a predefined convention, and letting life dictate the tone, rather than fashion. In Remission have a presence on stage which is hard to match, bringing their unique sound and high energy to audiences in a way that allows them to cross over the boundaries of musical genres and gain a multitude of varied fans. Understanding that it is impossible for others to enjoy your sound unless you enjoy it yourself, In Remission are out there simply to have the best time they can, and know that their audience will too! Starting out with three original band members with a passion for playing music, Tom Edwards (Drums), Rodney Smith (Guitar) and Tom Norman (Guitar) played together for six months forming the basis of their musical influences. Adam Bolton (Bass) later joined and they began to free-flow their writing process and practices became much more regimented. It took what seemed like an age to find a singer who could match the energy and varied approaches from the fearsome foursome but when they eventually found Daniel Lillie (Vocals / Synth) they knew it would be the beginning of something very special. They have since been playing together for 10 months with various opportunities coming their way. They hosted an exclusive EP Launch show, which gave them a great deal of exposure and a free reign on their very own audience. They were then awarded a place at the Regional Finals for Live and Unsigned 2009 which gave them a further boost to their confidence. They have been thriving on the local music scene, rising to a prime position with promoters. Gaining much interest from local press and music representatives has given them an extra drive to aim higher. In Remission were also noticed by a major UK record label as an upcoming talent on the music scene, achieving great things with their music in a very short time on the scene. The most recent and biggest success so far however, has been winning the Dunstable Battle of the Bands, judged by local music experts including BBC Introducing in Herts, Beds & Bucks.
