About
I grew up on a council estate in Leyton, East London with my mum and sister.
When I was ten, my mum managed to save up and order an acoustic guitar from a mail order catalogue. It inspired me and from then on, I'd sit at home after school and teach myself chords.
I have a great love of all kinds of music and a wide range of musical influences. These range from Motown, Blues and Folk and include artists Sam Cooke & Ella Fitzgerald.
Over the last couple of years, I've written my own songs that include Rain and Sometimes, which have received an excellent response from listeners. These songs were largely drawn from my own family and life experiences and experiences of those around me.
I was rather shy about singing in public, so until a few years ago I'd only sing at home in my flat! However, after my mum and a couple of friends heard me and told me to get out there and sing, my confidence developed and I now perform at several acoustic nights in Essex.
In 2008, I was the guest performer on the local radio station show ‘Local Talent’ and I also secured performances at the Chingford Music Festival, Southend Community Arts Festival and the popular Fordham Festival in Cambridge, which were great experiences and I just want to carry on now!
Fans/listeners have recently told me that I'm an inspired performer with a beautiful singing voice and enchanting melodies.
This did make me blush but thank you!
Hopefully you will feel the same.
