Adjagas is yoik group based in Sapmi,in the desolate areas of Northern Norway. The group consists of Sara Marielle Gaup and Lawra Somby- both traditional yoikers (a singer or a chanter with a Saami origin).Sara is a 21 year old girl from Guovdageaidnu/Kautokeino, whos musical heritage was passed down to her down through generations of her family.Lawra Somby,24, was taught yoiking from his father. Both have a unique and a strong stagepresence.Yoik is about the recreations of a moment, a sense, a memory, and bringing these into the light of day,inviting new people into this special world.Article Comments (0)
