More Gary Numan
Gary Numan rose to international success in the early eighties with his massive hit 'Cars'. Considered one of the founding fathers of synth-pop he has inspired recent generations of electro-rockers like The Faint as well as a swathe of industrial goth rock in the intervening period.
Despite releasing albums right through the eighties and nineties he has only really recently regained public recognition thanks to the Sugababes sampling his classic tune 'Our Friends Electric' originally released in 1979 for their hit tune 'Freaks Like Me'.
He has been covered by bands like Hole, the Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins and Marylin Manson. Gary continues to tour the world thanks to his massive fan base.
