For lots of local Icelandic artists chilling with the Internationals look no further than Iceland Airwaves. Renowned for putting up bands at the brink of their Signdom, A.I. was conceived in 1999 in an airplane hanger, and just flew (hahaha).
There’s no need to worry when music loving crowds get too much for you, most I.A. venues have stairs to quieter places, so you can sneak up and call that very nice person (who slipped their pretty little number in your hat padded pocket the night before) on your rented mobile phone. You could do that. Or you could buy some salted liquorice from the supermarket before trekking off to a waterfall, Geyser, historical site, or ‘really nice’ hole in the ground called Kerio.
Oh, and hangovers are cured during parties held in the Blue Lagoon (natural hot springs). Just check out the site….and sort yourself a ticket.
