Writing songs based on chapters in their lives, Scissors For Lefty are a burgeoning young talent waiting to whisper sweet nothings into everyone’s ears.

They are willing to poke fun at themselves and the absurdities of life, while having a laugh at the same time. Having shared the stage with bands like the Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Pretty Things and Fiery Furnaces; Scissors For Lefty have been biding their time, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Their kitsch, optimistic style has stood them in good stead and they are building a fanbase of their own, living happily in San Francisco. They muse on the twin sides of the city they live in, from glorious sunshiney days in the park to dodging muggings and car shootings, making them all the more interesting.
Citing influences as wide ranging as Grandaddy, Blondie and NOFX, with their personal favourites being a combination of the Footloose, Flashdance, and Top Gun Soundtracks. They strive to be different from other ‘indie’ bands out there summing them up: ”It's all the same stuff that you'd get from any I-Pod stolen out of an old Volvo. Aesthetically, we aspire to be the next step down from such bands. However, for sheer "low-fi" entertainment value, not to mention, endearing quirks, we put 'em to shame”.
