Footage of Michael Jackson rehearsing just two days before his death has been released tonight.

The video – released to CNN – shows Jackson performing the song ‘They Don't Care About Us’ at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The singer, who died a week ago today, can be seen dancing with a troupe of backing dancers and a female guitarist.

Earlier this week, a series of still images from the same rehearsal showed Jackson performing on an audacious stage set.

The star was preparing to begin a 50-night concert residency in London on July 13.

Watching this made me realize that perhaps he really was up for these shows, certainly doesn't look on death's door like some of the press would have you believe. What a terrible shame. Certainly gone before his time, under not yet understood circumstances.

He may look ok in the clip but taking those kinds of drugs will do that to even an otherwise healthy person. That shit is bad news. Blows my mind that crap is legal to get from a doctor and it kills ppl every day but pot is illegal...and I don't even smoke weed myself

That looked amazing! Hopefully that song has been recorded already, it sounds fantastic. As good as he's ever done! I haven't been a big fan of his since he started getting whacky, but was saddend at his passing. This video will bring the love for him back. It did for me.

All the bad press Michael has had and the false accusations, lets all hope that the accusers come clean and admit that they lied. He has suffered so much and now the world has lost an icon, he apparently deadened his pain with chemicals and it has caught up.. He looks as good here as he did in his concerts in the 1990's. Rest in peace and shame on us for all the bad jokes we have said over the years, and still are saying...Rachel...Gold Coast, Australia
