The Cribs have unveiled their new album title and track-listing.

The Wakefield trio's fourth long-player has been dubbed 'Ignore The Ignorant' and will be released this September.

The 12-track record is the first to feature Johnny Marr on guitars and was recorded in Los Angeles with Nick Launey.

Speaking to the NME, who broke the album details this morning, singer Ryan Jarman explained that the title was partly in response to the rise of The BNP (The British National Party).

He said: “There were a bunch of titles we could have gone with including 'Ignore The Ignorant'.

"Then in Yorkshire the BNP got a seat and we were like, 'Fuck.' It's harsh to accept that it can happen in your town."

The full track-listing is as follows:

'We Were Aborted'
'Cheat On Me'
'We Share The Same Skies'
'The City Of Bugs'
'Hari Kari'
'Last Year's Snow'
'Emasculate Me'
'Ignore The Ignorant'
'Save Your Secrets'
'Nothing'
'Victim Of Mass Production'
'Stick To Yr Guns'

  • Well it’s so very ease to get a point a cross in a likable state, in altering a person’s very own views in life, some people may call it a hypnotic state, inducing your own views into a young persons mind in a well written song, so the question is who is the dictator? Stay out of politics and just singsongs; your views are personal just like mine.

  • They're not saying its a political record AT ALL and those of you who think they are aren't reading what theyre saying properly. They were going to call the record this a while ago and then decided to go with it. P.s hundred fans, hmmm dont think so.

  • I read an interview saying that they had a few possible titles and ignore the ignorant was always the most prominent. Its been totally blown out of proportion, they're not trying to influence political thoughts and thats not what their music is about AT ALL.

  • This is not a political record!!!!! And I am quoting from one of the guys themselves. Read Gary's response to such it on myspace/facebook. The NME seem to have zoned in on that far too. The cribs make songs about far more inspiring things than politics.
