Rolling Stones are on the verge of confirming a tour which will see them return to the road before the end of 2009, according to reports.

The band have apparently been offered a multi-million pound deal to perform a series of live shows in the US.

Fans' hopes for a new tour have increased since guitarist Ronnie Wood's plans to reunite with his former band The Faces fell through last month.

A source told the Daily Express newspaper: “There is this offer for a US tour on the table. It’s a good offer.

“They may be well into their 60s but the lads can still out-rock most of the bands around today.

“They live well. Mick is a very healthy eater and Keith only has organic meals. They are in great shape for their ages. They live for performing so they will relish being back on the road. It’s what they first got in the game to do.

“Now that the Faces reunion seems to be off, Ronnie is free to perform with the Stones.”

The Rolling Stones have toured consistently during the latter stages of their career.

Their last road trip, The Bigger Bang tour, ran for two years until August 2007 and grossed $558,255,524 worldwide.

  • The Rolling Stones are the greatest rock and roll band in the world! They have been around for over 40 years, and each and every new song is incredible! I have seen them in concert many times, and they rock the house! I can't wait to see them again! They perform as well as they did 25 years ago....you can't say that about many bands around today- they are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

  • John Lennon was right in 1980 --> "Do you really think people are going to want to see Mick in mascarra in 20 years?" If you folks want to understand how ridiculous these folks are from the 60s, then read Lennon's playboy interview and last BBC interview ... the guy really new how ridicuolous thisses fols were going to loook .. I've been back to classicla musik

  • It would be nice if the Stones would play some songs that they haven't done in quite awhile. Songs like "Hang Fire", "One Hit To The Body", "Mixed Emotions", "Sparks Will Fly", "Already Over Me", "Saint Of Me" "Black Limousine" and "Silver Train" - just to name a few. I really don't need to hear all the Hot Rocks stuff over and over again. Just a tought

  • The stones are without doubt the greatest rock/rollband ever. Anyone who doubts this should just go to one of their concerts and feel it for themselves. The first thing that will hit you apart from the music is the age range in the audience. Us from their outset in the 60's are the minoity.Dont miss the next tour as sadlly it may be the last.
