Britney Spears Wows Fans On The X Factor

Britney Spears has made her first UK television appearance in four years on the X Factor.

The pop star was dressed in a gothic blouse and black hot pants as she gave an electric performance her new single ‘Womanizer’.

Asked by the show’s host Dermot O’Leary what she thought of the programme, Spears replied: “Amazing, I met so many different people and I love being here in London. It’s awesome."

She also wished the contestants, who had each covered one of her songs on the show, “good luck”, and said her advice was to “just keep doing it.”

Her appearance ended a short whistle-stop publicity tour which also included performances in Germany and France.

Spears releases her new album ‘Circus’ on Monday (December 1st).

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus had impressed earlier in the evening with a performance of her single ‘Seven Things I Hate About You'.

Meanwhile, in the competition, contestant Ruth Lorenzo, who had covered Spears' 'I Love Rock 'N' Roll', was voted off the show.

I agree with Mark, the miming was quite embarassing, 83 million records sold and can't sing live, Also had nothing intelligent to say, Clearly didn't know the names of any of the contestants!

If Britney was a contestant she would have been voted off. Poor miming and her moves weren't exactly slick either. She was completely uninterested in the contestants and didn't deserve her place on the show. Time to retire Britney.

she was dreadful, think simon cowell will be annoyed seeing as he gave her a blank cheque, saying ill pay what ever it takes to get you to sing on the x factor, and she could't even do that - defo agree with above, time to retire!!

Britney was clearly embarrassed by her own performance, she couldn't wait to run off the stage. It just goes to show how good PR can make somebody very average seem very special. A major disappointment.

Well; talented or not, she has sold very well her albums. --------Contestants who win in shows like x factors do not had nearly the fame of Britney, and they can sing. instead they only live a shorts moments of fame and poor singing carers. Because those kinds of programs are not interested in making someone famous, but in publicity and ratings.-------The point it doesn't,t matter if she can sing or not, at the end none of the winners would surpass Britney's prominent career

She sang live for the previous 2 performances in Germany & France so I wouldn't be surprised if shoddy ITV told her to lip sync. Hanna Montana only sang live because her performance was pre recorded!

Bad Bad Bad! The record is good but the performance was lacklustre, she strutted round like she didnt care and she mimed badly. This was her one great chance to re-invent herself in britain and even prove she can cut it live. Britney just cant cut it anymore.

Couldn't they at least have turned on her mic after her performance? It made it a LITTLE bit obvious she'd been miming when she had to talk into Dermott's mic. Although her miming was awful anywayso I guess it wouldn't really have mattered :) I don't think she can actually sing anymore, all her songs have her voice digitally altered.

She was Fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Who cares if she was miming. Don't you all know she is just practicing and getting better each time. She is going to blow it away when she does it in the U.S. Watch for it!

this was not britneys chance to prove herself in britain she proved herself years ago and just because she wasnt live who cares - if she sang live then people would say she was rubbish coz she wasnt dancing you cant have it both ways and fyi when you get to britneys status you dont have to sing live to prove anything so there i thought she was good and gl;ad she came over to uk and its tyhe start of britney getting back to her pre self again all takes time after a breakdown !!!!
