In the run-up to the eagerly anticipated release of Quantum Of Solace, Gigwise is unveiling the greatest James Bond theme songs of all time - as voted for by the fans. Each movie is only allowed one entrant with the list starting at number 22 (the song technically deemed the worst) and counting down to the very best James Bond theme at number one. 22. Rita Coolidge: 'All Time High' (Octopussy, 1983) – Written by John Barry and Andrew Lloyd Webber's chum Tim Rice, 'All Time High', is in our opinion one of the direst and cheesiest James Bond theme. Unsurprisingly it was the least successful Bond song of all time, charting at a mere number 75 in the UK charts. Coolidge herself said she did not like the song complaining it was hastily put together and unfinished.

I'm a big Duran Duran fan, but I would have been tempted to vote for Diamonds Are Forever or Goldfinger ahead of A View To A Kill. The Quantum of Solace one is complete and utter rubbish though.

as a longtime Duran fan I find it impossible to judge the song objectively.... however I do know it is far from my favourite Bond song. Nothing tops Bassey's contributions, and I also love Garbage, Nancy Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Chris Cornell. Pretty much every one except Madonna, really.

Although I love, love, love Duran Duran (have flown far and wide to see them) ... my favorite Bond song is actually Live and Let Die. The boys did a great job, and ... well, its not my fave. You can stone me now. ;o)

Next up.... best Spy/Espionage movie songs - has to be "Spy Hard" by Weird Al... just because it's Weird Al Yankovic!!! As for DD at number one - come on!!! Bassy by a mile with Goldfinger, awesome vocals. Then "Live and Let Die" THEN "VTAK". Still, what do I know!!!

Look at what the producers did to K.D.Lang's version of Tomorrow Never Dies (also called Surrender). They scrap it in favor of Sheryl Crow but look at the outcome, Lang's version proves far more superior to Crow. The new Quantum of Solace theme song 'Another way to die' is another WORST Bond song joining the roster of Madonna's Die another day and Chris Cornell's Casino Royale.

The Broccolis wanted to update the genre to appeal to younger audiences and the American market. Classic Bond songs like Goldfinger, DAF, OHMSS, to name some few are all gone. They sacrifice the quality and the long standing history of great Bond songs for money. They are frustrated to bring Bond songs to the chart. Old Bond songs never made it to the chart but they are classic and worth listening after all these years. Bring back John Barry and Shirley Bassey!
