Pete Doherty has disappointed fans by failing to turn up for a show in Manchester.

Doherty’s scheduled performance at the Ritz last night (October 3rd) was due to conclude his short solo UK tour.

According to the Manchester Evening News, no official explanation was given for Doherty’s no-show, which has frustrated fans.

One fan told the newspaper that it wasn’t until the doors opened at 7pm that they were informed of the cancellation.

Another fan said: "I'm furious with him. This is the second time we've been to see him and the second time he's cancelled.

“It's obvious he doesn't care about his fans any more. People idolise him, and this is how he repays them."

On Thursday, Doherty performed a show at London's Hackney Empire alongside his friends.

Contacting Gigwise yesterday (October 3rd), some fans criticised the show after a number of crowd members answered Doherty’s calls to launch a “stage invasion”.

  • I managed to get from his London show on Thursday to his Manchester show on Friday, so I'm not quite sure why he couldn't... It's a shame because after Thursday I was expecting a good gig out of it. Get your tickets refunded and go see Roses Kings Castles at Cellar Vie on Monday (free), and DPT at Academy 2 on Tuesday.

    • a legitimate excuse? he's a skag head. is that good enough for ya? obviously they didn't have the sense to send doormen to get him from his hotel room at gunpoint to perform, like they did in liverpool
