Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has denied that he has agreed to tour once again with the band.

A recent report in the Sun newspaper
claimed Plant and Led Zeppelin's remaining members would return to the road next summer after entering the studio together.

In a statement, Plant said he found the constant speculation around the band's future “frustrating and ridiculous”, and insisted that he “will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin”.

Calls for a full Led Zeppelin reunion tour have been consistent since the bands reunion show at the O2 Arena last December - which attracted 1 million applicants for just 9,000 pairs of tickets.

Plant's statement went on to add that he would not tour again for at least two years following the conclusion of his current US shows with Alison Krauss.

The pair's collaboration album, which was released shortly after Led Zeppelin's reunion, has proved to be a huge seller for Plant.

"It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," Plant said.

"I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

The Sun newspaper initially reported this month that Led Zeppelin's remaining members were auditioning replacement singers should Plant not join them on tour.

    • why do people think they have intelectual ownership over bands? He doesnt need the cash, has seen the world and is doing some amazing work with Alison Krauss... why revisit old ground when you can do something new?

  • I don’t think Led Zeppelin should tour again - the reunion show was rubbish anyway

  • Fair play to him for wanting to do something new! Fucking hell, god forbid anyone should move on from the overcooked muso wankery of late period Zep to something a bit more interesting. Not that I’m a huge fan of the Krausss collaboration ind, but still. Let him do what the fuck he wants! he’’s a man!

  • The guy is sixty years old and is having the time of his life working with musicians who are a a major upgrade both aesthetically and personally over the mates of his youth. Robert has grown up and the diehard Zep fans yearning for yet another pricey nostalgia tour have not, it is really just that simple. The whole lot of them ought to be embarrassed, trying to recapture their lost youth at his expense. Let the man do as he pleases with whatever years he has left to perform and record!

  • A CREATIVE ARTIST WHO MAKES MONEY FROM WHAT THEY DO SHOULD MAKE A DECISION ACCORDING TO THEIR CONSCIENCE. IT MAY BE THAT THE HYPE AND THE MEMORIES OF ZEPPELIN ARE TOO MUCH FOR PLANT TO BEAR, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE REAL LOVE OF THE FANS ( AND OF COURSE, PROFITS OF THE POTENTIAL PROMOTERS ) . HOWEVER, MAYBE HE’S JUST PLAYING HARD TO GET AND IS THE ’’’’ACE UP THE SLEEVE’’’’ OF THE BAND AND THIS IS REALLY A WAY

  • Robert shouldn't waste any more of his time with Jimmy/John Paul or Jason. The two remaining members and kid Bonham are TOO lazy or inept to put anything out... How many times in the last 7 years have we heard Jimmy is working on a new record or JPJ for that matter? Robert has proven that he was the workhorse of Led Zeppelin. Jimmy and JPJ = perezoso.

  • I would love to see Zep reforming but respect Robert Plant for being honest and saying he doesn,t want to do it !!! It has to be Plant, Page, Bonham and Jones !!!! No other line up would do !!! We can always hope he changes his mind !!!

  • I knew RP in the BOJ days and he always had an innate musical integrity. Zep's direction was largely down to his influence in my opinion and he knows what he wants.Unforunately he is no longer the handsome young rock god and knows it. Look forward not back is his mantra.

  • The speculation by the media over the bands future by the media etc.. have obviously really irritated Robert Plant becuase it take s away the element of originality when the band are treated as a commodity like that ie; purely on demand.Perhaps this isnt a bad thing however for artists like plant this must be annoying. In alot of ways Led Zeppelin have done their bit and its all just pure reminiscing which to me is extremely sad. Ok i would like to see them play live but hey ho.
