Oasis' Noel Gallagher Fan Attack Put Down To 'Security Breach'

Festival organisers respond...

Oasis' Noel Gallagher Fan Attack Put Down To 'Security Breach' Add to My Fav Bands List

Organisers of the Virgin Festival in Canada have described an incident between Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and a fan as a “security breach”.

Gallagher was pushed to the floor when a fan burst on stage during the group's performance at the festival last night (September 7th).

Security guards tackled the individual, who was later charged with assault.

A spokesperson for the festival told the Telegraph: “Oasis understand sometimes these things happen.”

In a video of the incident - which can be seen below - Gallagher's brother, Liam, can be seen trying to retaliate after security intervene.

Oasis were forced off stage because of the incident but returned later to continue their set, which ended with a cover of The Beatles' 'I Am The Walrus'.

It's not the first time Gallagher has been attacked on stage. In 1994, the guitarist was punched by a fan at a gig in Newcastle.

  • I don’t think you could call that person a fan! A fan is someone who likes an artist, not someone who runs to push him and injuries the poor sod!

  • No one can blamb Steve Allen or Risks Contained as they look after Liam Galagher not Noel Gallagher, Noels security is handeled by headline Security. That to one side its the venue's stage security that are to blamb, this concert was not a sole oasis gig so the stage was not under the control of band security....we have to remeber that a suprise attack from behind is impossible to pre empt for the band security...point the finger at the venue not Steve Allen or Risks Contained or even headl
