Babyshambles' Pete Doherty Plays Surprise London Show

With his girlfriend...

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty played an impromptu show in London last night, hours after his band were banned from a music festival.

Doherty's performance at Jazz After Dark was the latest in a string of appearances the singer has made at the venue in Soho.

He played two hours worth of material which pulled songs from both The Libertines and Babyshambles catalogue and was watched by on-off girlfriend, Matilda Thomas.

Doherty's appearance followed confirmation yesterday that a festival in Wiltshire has been cancelled after Babyshambles were banned form performing at the event.

Police won a case at North Wiltshire Magistrate's on Monday, in which they claimed Doherty's band could incite violence.

They used YouTube footage of a stage invasion which took place during Doherty's recent solo show at the Royal Albert Hall to argue their case.

  • Yes, Lucy, it really was amazing. Pete really wanted to make this a good gig. One thing that made it even more special was the fantastic improvised playing along by the Fallen Heroes trumpet player Paul Bonner.

    • Yes I agree a great gig, did anybody spot the new orleans jazz vocalist flashing her boobs, unfortunately Pete was busy entertaining the audience of over 30 beautiful girls, all eager for his attention despite that his eyes were focused on Matilda. notice all the tabloids say his shirt had blood spots - it was not blood it was lipstick from all the fans kissing him.

    • why would he want Kate back when he has all these lovely young girls queuing up for him, they are all fresh and exciting unlike Kate without make up she looks like his mother. OK shes got millions but money doesnt mean a lot to Pete he’s a live for today sort of guy. if I had his charm charisma Matilda will be my dream girl.

  • I must say any girl who has anything to do do with pete must have a very liberal attitude. He must have a long list of girls on speed dial willing to drop everything at the last minute. They never seem to last long though but are always willing to join the rest of his growing stock of on off girlfriends which I think is very odd, dont you think? What only 2 this month?

    • Sounds like jealously to me, he is very nice charming he just hasnt found the right girl yet. If you want to have the pleasure of meeting him hang out @ Jazz after Dark in Greek Street Soho I believe it is his favourite bar, I met him there several times. then write what you feel about him.

    • Ok I am engaged, I was having a drink in jazz after dark with my fiance when Pete Doherty his band arrived followed by the paparizze. I had the pleasure of being in the audience, he is so exiting I would be more than happy to spend time with him - even a quickie would be better than nothing. just to have a photo in the newspaper next day, I would be willing to risk my relationship for a little bit of the limelight. Come on girls dont you all feel the same just admit it,

    • i agree with Samantha she will have her fiance for the rest of her / his life mabye if he has the chance to have another girl he might jump to it. I am married if I had a chance with Pete I would go for it. No harm to spice up your life a bit after all Pete is like a ship in the night.

  • We work across the road from Jazz after Dark so it is our meeting place, we saw pete kate moss kissing getting frisky in the VIP area, a few weeks later it was Pete & Coco Sumner in the VIP, next was Amy Winehouse, after it was the beautiful Portia Freeman & finally matilda pete is surely a lucky guy he has more on & off girlfriends than I have hot dinners. girls are too eager to queue up for him for a quickie.
