A new song by rapper Akon which features guest vocals from Michael Jackson has appeared online.

The song, entitled 'Hold My Hand', is understood to be the product of the pair's recent studio collaboration.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Akon is said to be producing Jackson's as-yet-untitled new studio album.

'Hold My Hand'

Fans' reaction to the song on various websites has been mostly positive, with one declaring that Jackson's vocals are “the return of the king.”

Another said: “So..after all this time Michael Jacksons still got it! He sounds great.”

It is a beautiful song. It brings much comfort. The lyrics reach out to the basic need that is so absent in todays botch job of a society. Michael shows his sincere dedication to making the world a better place. That is what a true King is supposed to do. The King of Pop is always in the hearts of those who understand what life, humanity and music are about. Michael brings out the best in anyone he works with, Akon sounds so smooth! LONG LIVE, LONG LOVE, LONG REIGN THE KING OF POP.

Love it! Great melody, and killer vocals. It wasn’t until I listened to this song that I realized how much I actually miss the voice and musical talent of Michael Jackson, it’’s about time he re-enters the music scene. I hope to hear this song tearing up the charts on the radio soon.

I haven’t felt such goosebumps after hearing a new MJ song since the History album. This is awesome and what a fantastic, positive, feelgood summer tune. Beautiful song!!! They sound awesome together, I’m glad Michael is back!! I missed him sooo much, his voice is so recognizable and nobody sings like him... Akon’’s almost there :-) I always appreciate Michael’’s lyrics, they are non violent, spiritual, non-sexual...just classic...I think it is very refreshing in this day and age and especially in pop music.

Don't get me wrong, I love listening to the old stuff of Michael Jackson, but I want to hear some new music from MJ. I'm not expecting THRILLER 2, all I want is to turn on the radio and hear some good new music from Michael.
