Robert Plant Snubs 100million For Led Zeppelin World Tour

So it is claimed...

Share

Robert Plant has reportedly snubbed a £100million offer to take Led Zeppelin on a world tour.

Of course, the demand for a full Led Zep reunion is phenomenally high after their appetiser at the 02 Arena last December, but apparently Plant is firmly against the idea of a full reformation - whatever the offer.

The Sunday Mirror claims that the other two surviving Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were keen to take the £100million offered to each of them to tour North America and Europe, but Plant’s touring commitments with Alison Krauss have firmly stood in their way.

A band ‘source’ told the paper: "Despite the enormous offer, the decision did not come down to money. They always said they would do the one-off show and then see how they felt.

"Jimmy had enjoyed the concert in December enough to want to tour. He argued they still had something to offer. He likes the idea of another chapter in the band - the grown-up tour.

"John sided with Jimmy. He loved making music with the others again. But Robert wanted to leave last year's concert as their legacy. They had proved they could still do it and that was enough.

"He has other commitments and is happier looking forward to those. Robert put the mockers on the tour."

  • ..you won’t see a tour but possibly a few 02 type shows mabe in NY late 2008. He doesn’t need the money. And a full tour is old hat from Plant’s point of view.

  • Plant is being completely selfish. He obviously does not care about all the fans that keep buying Zep records year after year. I normally would never say anything negative about the band but come on Plant, you are being totally ridiculous!

  • I agree. I\'ve been a fan for as long as I can remember, but seems Planty is always the one pulling this prima donna junk. He isnt just snubbing a deal. He is snubbing his bandmates and IMO, if it werent for JP/JPJ Planty would not be where he is today. He was a pauper as was Bonzo. From pauper to madman...
