Kate Nash thinks The Cribs should have won a gong at the NME Awards on Thursday night - and not because she’s dating their singer.

Nash - who has been seeing Ryan Jarman for the last six months - thinks the Yorkshire trio deserved to pick up at least one award from their four nominations.

She explains, “I'm really upset that The Cribs didn't win Best Live Band.

“They were up for four awards but they didn't get anything. I'm bummed because they're a really important band.

“I know everyone will be like, 'Oh, you're so biased'. I am, but I also really mean it."

Nash herself won best Solo Artist at the bash on Thursday night .

  • How can she be upset that the cribs lost to muse?? I couldnt see a bunch of lisping yorkshiremen selling out wembley stadium twice and putting on that kind of a show!

  • all 3 of you are clearly upper class twats, the cribs are easily the most under-rated band in Britain, muse are utter shit toff cunts, the cribs are the best band in a LONG time, a proper indie rock band not like muse wannabe scenester dickheads, nme awards was a farce, arctic monkeys & klaxons were great once but now they’ve got the brit awards on their cocks and nme up their arse.     • haha as if, the cribs are a bloody scene band, their bland generic indie riding the back of what misguided fools like u think is some kind of revolution. Muse are a band in their own right who have been around for years, not part of any scene. Muse are musically original, even if u dont like them u cant exactly compare them to any band around. Face it, the cribs will never last as long as Muse, go back to your hole you abusive smartarse, theres no indie revolution your 23 years too late.

  • Kallum is right, the Cribs are one of the single greatest live acts ever to grace the stages of the UK. Muse are also shit. Anyone who needs all the lights and shit to be a good live band clearly aren’t worth the time.

  • well um, kallum and joe, sour grapes i think. muse aren’t just the best live bad cos of their lights and stuff. not one person will say they’’re a shit live act they’’re not afraid to smash their instruments or improvise in their songs either. muse easily deserve that award, and kate nash is a bit thick, but the cribs are good live
