Girls Aloud Take A Swipe At 'Indie Clones'
Share

Girls Aloud are set to take aim at indie kids on the B-side to their next single ‘Can’t Speak French’ which is out next Month.

The track, ‘Hoxton Heroes’, sees the all girl five piece hit out at the residents of the trendy London area.

At one point they sing “don't kid yourself you're an indie clone, we've seen it before get a sound of your own".

You can listen to a preview of the track, which is released on March 17, by going to Girls Aloud’s myspace page.

Seems like they’ll no longer be the girl band its ok for indie kids to like anymore.

  • A girl group manufactured on a TV programme calls indie bands ’clones’? Ooooh, my sides, they split....

  • Lets face it, the material that girls aloud put out (obviously not written by the band themselves) is considerably more interesting and forward thinking/moving than the majority of indie bands. I’m on their side, who cares if they have the colective personality of particularly dull pencil, they are something nice to look at while listening to songw-writers actually striving to make pop both accesible and progressive.

  • At least indie kids don’t get fame by getting their tits out.

  • By the way, it’s true all indie bands are the same, they are all CCTV loving sound-a-likes working for the man. And girls aloud are came from Pop Idol - and i’m definitely not going that way! You should all be listening to Mr Labeless post-electro music by haemaphrodite from Birmingham, it’s amazing, and I’d know beacause its me! Talent scouts are all over me! Mwah xxx

  • Pop by nature is accessible - the name gives it away no? I don’t think you can credit (hot) Girls Aloud for being at the forefront of making popular music, well, popular. They’re just mannequins.

  • Apparantly, an attack on Indie kids is deemed controversial, but an unprovoked attack on a black woman is not deemed either racist or enough to throw a member of the group out... Obviously polydor believe that it’ll work in their favour as Girls Aloud fans are going to be racist, or why else would she still be there.

  • ahhhah . lol . they're calling indies clones , have they looked at themselves although i do wonder with indie atm , it seems like its just gone far too popular , and eveyone is trying to pull off the look . if everyone goes for it , it'll never work , pisses me off tbh . i'd rather just be different.

  • clones? The funny thing is I doubt I could distinguish between any particular member of the generic television-manufactured girl band, let alone between the group of them and another generic television-manufactured girl band - they look like a bunch of shop window mannequins..
