Ike Turner's Widow Asks Tina To Forgive Him

Ike Turner’s widow Jeanette has asked his former wife Tina to forgive the soul star.

The 76-year-old who passed away last week had openly confessed to a violent past with Tina, admitting to hitting and slapping the singer during their drug addled, turbulent marriage.

The pair have been out of touch for 35 years, with Tina refusing to comment on his death last week.

Now, Ike’s wife of twelve years, Jeanette, has pleaded with Tina to forgive Ike for his barbaric ways. She said: "I know that she was hurt. But there's something called forgiveness and I know Ike really forgave himself, which is really hard to do.

"I'm not defending what he did. I'm not saying he didn't do what he did when he was with Tina or me. But he was a human being. And being all of that, he's still a child-like person- pure and a good person always willing to help people. He was a human being and he helped Tina... he helped a lot of people."

  • There is a such thing as forgiveness. We do not like the things that happen to us in this life. Some things we bring upon ourselves and some things are out of our control but we must deal with them. Forgiveness is the best way to deal with these things we did not deserve or ask for. Tina did some things she should not have. This is the price we pay when we put ourselves in uncompromising positions,sometimes. Ike helped Tina, as he did many other persons.

  • He wasn’t man enough to ask for forgiveness years before his death .. Scared of what lies ahead when his heart finally stops he asks for forgiveness to ease his transition into the unknown.

  • Violence against women is not tolerated, he should have asked tina years ago for forgiveness, this man abused her physically, emotionally and also assultated her sexully, would you forgive him if it was YOU!!!! THINK PEOPLE

  • I thought buddism was all about peace and forgiveness, maybe she needs to stop playing on her life with Ike 35 years on. She already had her piece of him.
