Tributes have been flooding in across the music world from those paying their respects to the late Pimp C.

The rapper, who was one half of UGK, was unexpectedly found dead in his Sunset Boulevard hotel room on Tuesday (December 4). It may take up to six weeks to understand the circumstances of his death, but at the moment it is assumed that he died of natural causes. 

Bun B, his partner in UGK, said: "His genius was unparalleled. His passion was undeniable and his love was unmatched. To say that I lost a friend or brother would never do justice to the relationship we shared. I will never be the same again."

In an interview with MTV, Outkast’s Big Boi also showered him in tributes, saying: "He was cool as hell. He was real laid-back, down-to-earth. We would talk from time to time. We hung out at a couple of clubs a couple of times. He was the real thing. He wasn't putting on a front or acting out a character: That was really him. Real good dude. So much fun and charisma.

Meanwhile, producer Swizz Beatz, who worked on UGK’s seventh and most recent album ‘Underground Kingz’, continued the fond words.

Beatz said: "He was one of the funniest guys I ever met. His character had me on the floor the whole time. I thought I was the only person in this industry who had some humor, not trying to act like a killer all the time. ... It's sad he went out. It's sad for hip-hop."

  • I love UGK and when I heard what happened to Pimp C I couldn’t close my mouth, it was just unbelievable to me that one of my favorite rap group members had passed and at such a young age. I send out my prayers to his family and friends and also the real fans that he has. I own every CD by UGK and was just playing their cd in my car the other day. I really feel a sense of lost, because without PIMP C there is no UGK. I honestly feel that UGK and MJG & 8ball where the best rap groups

  • PIMP C was my favorite rapper!! i can’t say that he was one becuz nobody has the energy and power he brings to a cd r a stage. And by that i’m saying any stage and any cd. what can i listen to thats gona b better then UGK PIMP AND BUN NOBODY CAN REPLACE THAT.   • My girlfriend who is over in italy but is originally from the south, her and i was listening to ”tell me somethng good” around the same time it happened, that wasnt good news..... that was a star who excelled amongst all stars in the sky...   • I remember the first time I heard that southern drawl I damn near melted .. then I heard him on Jay’s track & I like Jay after that for putting Pimp C on the cut.. Pimp C was why I liked the rap ... his southern drawl ... cool swagger... something about him just spoke volumes ... I rocked the Free Pimp C shirt and was constantly blasting Int’l Playaz Anthem...
