    5O Cent, Joan Jett and Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora were amongst the stars who attended the première of the Twilight series' 'New Moon' in Los Angeles last night.

    Still on his 'Before I Self Destruct' promotional duties, 50 Cent had time to weigh into the Robert Pattinson vs. Taylor Lautner debate.

    Asked by Access Hollywood whether he was Team Edward (Pattinson) or Team Jacob (Lautner), Fiddy said: “I’m somewhere in the middle. I like to see both of them. It’s just the enjoyment of the entire project.”

    The rapper and actor went on to say he's a fervent fan of the movie phenomenon, adding: “I got a chance to see the first film ('Twilight') and I’m excited too. I came out to enjoy the festivities.”

    The makers of Rock Band have announced that Them Crooked Vulture's 'New Fang' will be available to play on the game from today (November 17).

    To coincide with the release of their self titled debut album the band consisting of Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones have made the song playable on Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3.

    The song will cost Xbox users 160 Microsoft points, Nintendo customers 200 Wii points and PS3 gamers 99 pence.

    In a statement the band said, “"Them Crooked Vultures are keenly aware of the different ways in which modern music fans digest new music and are therefore especially happy to be able to offer the first single as a downloadable Rock Band game track.”

    Rolf Harris has confirmed that he has teamed up with Status Quo's Rick Parfitt to record a Christmas single.

    The song, titled 'Christmas In The Sun', is taken from the compilation album 'It's Christmas Time' and is released  on December 7.

    79-year-old Rolf said of Status Quo: "They came up with musical surprises and guitar rhythms that sent shivers up and down my spine.

    "These guys have given me everything I wanted - a positive, hard-driving sound, lively and bouncing with good times, laughter and tons of fun."

    Editors kicked off the Mencap Little Noise sessions last night with a special acoustic performance at the Union Chapel in London.

    The band were part of a special line up curated by charity patron Jo Whiley and included newcomers Everything Everything plus Bombay Bicycle Club and The Maccabees.

    Manchester's Everything Everything gave a confident performance which belied their tender years and saw the band performing alongside a string band from the Royal College of Music.

    Bombay Bicycle Club and The Maccabees both played exclusive covers during their sets. The Maccabess chose to perform the little know I Am Kloot's 'Because' whilst Loudon Wainwright's III's 'Motel Blues' was performed by Bombay Bicycle Club's lead singer Jack  Steadman.

    Released on November 30, the deluxe package features the original album, a 'Live at Abbey Road' disc, a collection of remixes, covers and rarities plus a DVD which features promo videos, an acoustic session and four promo videos.

    On top of this, you'll also get some obligatory 'never seen before photos' and extended sleeve notes.

    Stars from the music world have paid tribute to rapper Derek B who died of a heart attack aged just 44.

    British hip-hop artist Ty – real name Ben Chijioke – told BBC news: "He broke the door down. "He was one of the first artists that I saw get to such a level through rap, and be on 'Top of the Pops,' be on children's programs, be on the world stage.

    “He was one of the ones to do it first, when it was thoroughly unacceptable from the mainstream perspective. At the time, he was absolutely groundbreaking. He definitely broke the door down."

    Writing on Twitter, Estelle linked to Derek B's track 'Get Down' and wrote: “RIP DEREK B. UK originator.”

    As expected, Jay-Z joined Rihanna on stage at Brixton Academy last night as she launched her new album 'Rated R'.

    It was Rihanna's first show since being assaulted by her then boyfriend Chris Brown in February and it didn't disappoint.

    Wearing a mask and studded oufit, Rihanna came on stage and debuted largely tracks from 'Rated R' during the opening of the set, including recent single 'Russian Roulette'.

    After being joined by Jeezy on 'So Hard', the 45 minute set climaxed with the arrival of Jay-Z on stage for 'Run This Town' and the ultimate 'Umbrella' which saw crowd members hold umbrellas aloft in the air.

    British rapper Derek B has died of a heart attack at the age of 44, it's been reported.

    He was one of the first rappers to achieve mainstream success in the UK and appeared on Top of the Pops in the late 80's at a time when hip-hop was largely ignored.

    Writing on Twitter, DJ Zane Lowe said: “Oh man. Derek B was a massive album for me. Sad day.”
