Joe Stummer Charity Offers Unsigned Glastonbury Slot And other prizes...

Unsigned acts, who feature three or more performers, could be in with a chance at performing at this years Glastonbury Festival, it’s been revealed.
Bands have been asked to submit MP3s of their performances to a judging panel who will pick three a month to perform in front of industry figures at the Comedy Café in London.
Two runners up will also have the opportunity to play at the Jersey Live Festival and the Zoothousand festival in Kent.

The Whip Announce Album, Single And Tour Details All coming in March...

The Whip have announced details of their debut album, next single and some spring headline shows.
The Manchester band will re-release their club stomper ‘Trash’ on March 17 while the album ‘X Marks Destination’ will follow on March 24.
The release will coincide with the bands headline UK tour which itself follows support dates for Simian Mobile Disco.
The Whip’s full UK dates are:

Does It Offend You, Yeah? Reveal Debut Album Details Due this March...

Does It Offend You, Yeah? have revealed the full details of their debut album which is set for release in March.
Entitled ‘You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into’ the record was produced by Rich Costey (Interpol, Muse).
It will be released on March 17 via Virgin Records and will contain nine tracks.
The track listing is:

MGMT Add New Shows To UK Tour Including London date...

MGMT have added new shows to their forthcoming UK tour, including a London date.
The band, who are this weeks Gigwise cover stars, will kick off their tour at Nottingham’s Social on February 28th.
From there, they’ll play shows in Glasgow (February 29th), Manchester (March 1st), Birmingham (March 3rd) and Brighton (March 4th).
The tour, which will support the group’s debut album 'Oracular Spectacular', will conclude with a show at London’s ICA on March 5th.

Black Kids Set To Tour With Kate Nash This coming February...

Hotly tipped American band Black Kids will support Kate Nash on her upcoming UK tour, it’s been announced.
The band, who are featured in Gigwise’s tips for 2008, will play ten dates with Nash, beginning in Belfast on February 24th.
The band will end their run of shows with the UK singer at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on March 10th.
Black Kids new dates are in addition to an extensive run of UK support shows alongside Friendly Fires and Sons & Daughters which start later this month.

goFASTER>> have announced details of their new single which is set for release next month.
The scouse quartet’s latest limited edition vinyl entitled ‘Flammable Leisurewear’ on Alcopop Records on February 11.
Two separate seven inches will be available, one with matchbook artwork by Hot Club de Paris’ Paul Rafferty and the other (limited to 100m copies) featuring a special tracksuit sleeve.
The release will be followed by a joint UK tour with fellow Merseyside newcomers Elle S’appelle.

Envy and Other Sins Confirm Debut Single The winners of mobileAct unsigned...

Winners of T4’s mobileAct unsigned in association with Sony Ericsson and Orange, Envy & Other Sins, have announced details of their debut single.
Recorded at the Olympic Studios, their self-penned single ‘Highness’ will be released through the imprint on February 11, followed by their as-yet-untitled debut album in March.

Black Kids, Friendly Fires And Ipso Facto For Joint Tour In January...

Black Kids, Friendly Fires and Ipso Facto are all set to hook up in 2008 for the Vice Live Tour.
The three bands will play four shows together in January and February taking in Glasgow, Manchester, London and Bristol.

The Teenagers Reveal Debut Album Details 'Reality Check' is out in March...

The Teenagers have announced the full details of their debut album which is set fro release next spring.
Entitled ‘Reality Check’ the record will be released via Merok/XL on March 17 while the single ‘Love No’ will hit the shops a week earlier.
In January the Parisian trio will cross the Atlantic to play their first ever North American tour taking in twelve shows.
