In a bizarre turn of events Michael Jackson has been called up for Jury service in California barely four months after being acquitted of child molestation.
However, it is likely that he will be excused from serving as he has been living in Bahrain since the end of the trial.
"All he has to do is show he has legal residency somewhere else and he'll be exempted," Santa Barbara Jury Commissioner Gary Blair told the BBC.
Jackson, who was in London last week, has had his legal team file paperwork requesting a deferment of jury service summons, "He is permanently living outside of the United States," said his trial lawyer, Thomas Mesereau.
He’s not the high profile person to be called up for Jury Service, Ronald Reagan was called up while he was serving as President but was allowed a deferment.
