In the latest installment of the story everyone's now frankly getting bored of, Pete Doherty was arrested in Shrewsbury last night.
The Babyshambles singer was detained after drug squad officers raided the Shrewsbury Music Hall where the band had just played a gig.
According to the BBC, Doherty and an unnamed woman were later arrested for possession of class A drugs and 17 others searched during an operation in the town overnight. The woman was questioned and subsequently released without charge.
Doherty has however protested his innocence, claiming that police mistook an implant aimed at keeping him off drugs for "hard stuff". As he walked out after being bailed, he said that the law was "a pain" and told reporters that "it's just some sort of mistake, that's all."
He then showed photographers what he claimed was an implant in his lower abdomen.
Tonight's Babyshambles gig in Norwich has been cancelled as a result of the arrests.
Whatever next eh?
