Poor old Madge has had a bit of an ego-bashing of late, the Material Girl dreamt of resurrecting her role as Eva Peron in a new stage version of Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber – but unfortunately the wrinkly little composer has deemed her too old.
Apparently Lloyd-Webber was delighted by Madonna’s 1996 performance in the film adaptation of the musical but now thinks she’s beyond her prime:
“She’s not right for the part” he is quoted as saying on breakingnews.ie “We are looking for people in their twenties for goodness sake.”
Oh dear Madge, as if having a handful of broken ribs weren’t enough…
