Bloc Party have been forced to cancel some live dates after front man Kele Okereke was advised to rest his voice for a week.
Okereke had been suffering a sore throat at the Carling Weekend: Leeds and Reading and saw a specialist when he returned. As a result they’ll no longer be performing at the I-Days Festival in Italy and in London tomorrow night at the Virgin Digital launch.
A spokesman for the band told Gigwise: “Kele has had a few problems since the weekend with a hoarse voice. The band have got an American tour plus the Mercury Prize next week so he’s resting his voice ready for those appearances.”
