Michael Jackson was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine yesterday (August 17) and narrowly escaped arrest for not turning up in court twice in a sexual assault lawsuit.
The claimant in the case, Joseph Bertucci, is alleging that Jackson took them into his limousine in New Orleans in 1984 and sexually assaulted them. Bertucci is asking for an undisclosed amount of damages in the case.
However, Jacko or his representatives have not turned up for the hearings with his lawyer Charles Gay blaming administrative errors stopping the king of pop from attending.
But District Judge Eldon Fallon came down hard saying he would have ordered Jacko’s arrest if Gay had not spoke on his behalf.
Betucci claims he repressed memories of the alleged assault until Jackson’s child molestation trial this year. Jackson was acquitted of all charges in the Gavin Arvizo trial.
