According to the Sunday Telegraph, Jackson is so frantic to play the Philadelphia Live 8 concert that he has been pleading with the event’s organisers and even had his right hand man, Frank Tyson, write several letters on his behalf.
Apparently the letters emphasise all the hard work Jackson has done campaigning against poverty in Africa, including his contribution to 'We Are The World,' which raised in excess of £45 m for famine relief.
Considering his current circumstances it will be a tough decision for Live 8’s organisers to say whether or not he should perform.
