Chris Martin has admitted plagiarising other artists work, including The Beatles, for Coldplay’s new album ‘X&Y’.
Martin told XFM presenter John Kennedy: "As people listen to the album more and more it'll become apparent just how much we've plagiarised. To me, at the end of our album we should have had a bibliography, or a discography, or references."
Martin added: "The end of 'What If' is taken from The Beatles. We were stealing from a lot of people. Much more than people think."
With Coldplay being beaten to the number one spot on Sunday by the Crazy Frog ring tone Martin joked about his feelings on being beaten by the annoying animated amphibian. He jokingly revealed: “We refer to him as ‘That Little Frog’”
“We don’t like the frog and it brings me out in hives. I go red. The point is that little thing should have its legs chopped off and I’d like to eat them in a restaurant.”
The band are playing a special one off gig at London’s Koko on Monday (June 6) to support the release of ‘X&Y’. Tickets Cost £20 and all proceeds will go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.
